Gateway Search Dogs, Inc., a not for profit, 501(c)(3), Missouri corporation, was incorporated in 2002 due to a continuing need to provide certified canine teams and field personnel to help locate lost, missing or deceased persons.

Currently, we have fourteen members, three operational HRD canine teams, three operational Area Search canine teams and six canine teams in training.  Our operational canine teams are nationally certified in wilderness and human remains detection (HRD).  Additionally, all of our operational canine teams meet NIMS standards, as developed by the Department of Homeland Security.

GSD will serve all city, county, state or national search and rescue (SAR) agencies without prejudice and will work in cooperation with other SAR organizations.

We are an all volunteer organization and there are no charges for our service.  We are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  GSD operates independently of any political entity.

If you are interesting in becoming a canine handler, but do not have a dog as yet, come to our training before you acquire a dog.  Some breeds can be better than others for SAR work and we will be happy to help you make the right choice.
